Bacterial Cellulose: Functional Modification and Wound Healing Applications

Wei He et al.

Summary: Bacterial cellulose (BC) is a natural polymer with good biological activity and unique physical, chemical, and biological properties, suitable for wound dressings. Different methods have been adopted to modify BC for optimizing its biocompatibility and antimicrobial activity, promoting wound healing. BC-based dressings have been applied in various types of wounds with remarkable therapeutic effects.

Nanotheranostics: A Possible Solution for Drug-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus and their Biofilms?

Dina A. Mosselhy et al.

Summary: Staphylococcus aureus is a problematic pathogen with resistant strains like MRSA causing issues in hospitals. Nanoparticles and nanofibers show potential in combating superbugs and biofilms, as well as diagnosing MRSA efficiently. Collaborative efforts and standard testing procedures are recommended to address challenges in nanotheranostics.
