Demonstration of the trapped-ion quantum CCD computer architecture

J. M. Pino et al.

Summary: The QCCD proposal outlines a blueprint for a universal quantum computer using mobile ions as qubits, limiting quantum interactions to small ion crystals to maintain low error rates demonstrated in small experiments. The integration of necessary elements into a programmable trapped-ion quantum computer has led to the realization of a teleported CNOT gate with negligible crosstalk error and high quantum volume, showing the potential for high-performance quantum computers.

Holographic quantum algorithms for simulating correlated spin systems

Michael Foss-Feig et al.

Summary: In this study, a suite of holographic quantum algorithms for efficient ground-state preparation and dynamical evolution of correlated spin systems has been presented. These algorithms require far fewer qubits than the number of spins being simulated, making use of matrix-product states (MPS), quantum channels, partial measurement, and qubit reuse. This paves the way for efficient quantum simulation of exponentially large bond dimension MPS, including ground states of two- and three-dimensional systems or thermalizing dynamics with rapid entanglement growth.
