Global or local solidarity? That's the wrong question: relationality, aspiration and the in-between of feminist activism in Southeast Asia

Felix Anderl

Summary: Global solidarity has been criticized, especially in postcolonial feminist theory, for its tendency to erase differences. This article explores how solidarity projects can bridge differences without undermining them, arguing against sharp dichotomies and emphasizing the importance of both localized and aspirational approaches to solidarity. Drawing on interviews with the World March of Women in Indonesia and the Philippines, the study demonstrates that solidarity across difference is possible when analysis and practice are rooted in specific contexts while aspiring to a broader collective aspiration.

Reflexive discourse analysis: A methodology for the practice of reflexivity

Audrey Alejandro

Summary: This article discusses the implementation of reflexivity in practice, introducing a methodology called reflexive discourse analysis (RDA) based on discourse analysis. By analyzing and reflecting on our own discourse, RDA aims to assess and transform our socio-discursive engagement with the world to align with our intentional socio-political objectives.
