Double adjustment of Co and Sr in LaMnO3+δ perovskite oxygen carriers for chemical looping steam methane reforming

Xianglei Yin et al.

Summary: In this study, high reactivity and coking resistance of the La1-xSrxMn1-yCoyO3+delta oxygen carriers were achieved by adjusting the levels of Co and Sr. The introduction of cobalt provided surface active sites to accelerate methane activation, while Sr doping increased oxygen vacancies for improved oxygen migration. The optimal substitution ratios of Co and Sr were found to be in the ranges of 0.4-0.5 and 0.2-0.4, respectively, with La0.8Sr0.2Mn0.5Co0.5O3+delta showing satisfactory performance and stability in redox tests.

Hydroxylation mechanism of phase regulation of nanocrystal BaTiO3 synthesized by a hydrothermal method

Xing Ji et al.

Summary: This study successfully synthesized cubic and tetragonal BaTiO3 nanocrystals by changing the ratio of water and ethanol in the solvent. It was found that hydroxylation process affects the phase transition of BaTiO3, with ethanol being catalytically oxidized by titanium atoms promoting the formation of cubic phase, while the mixed solution of ethanol and water facilitates the tetragonal phase formation.

Chelating agent size effect on thermal decomposition, phase formation and morphology characteristics of Y3+ doped Ba(Ce,Zr)O3 ceramics powder prepared by a sol-gel process

Nafisah Osman et al.

Summary: This study reported the sol-gel synthesis of Y3+ doped BCZY with different chelating agents, investigating their effects on thermal decomposition, phase formation, and morphology. Results showed that the molecular weight of chelating agents influenced the weight loss of intermediate compounds and the formation of BCZY crystals, leading to different crystal structures. The use of different chelating agents interacted with metal cations, causing the formation of Zr-cluster and Ce-cluster, which may explain the fluctuations in the elemental composition of the calcined powders.

Hydrothermal synthesis of barium titanate nano/microrods and particle agglomerates using a sodium titanate precursor

R. A. Surmenev et al.

Summary: The study investigated the effects of varying properties of 1D barium titanate nanostructures on ion exchange processes and phase formation. It was found that BaTiO3 nano- and microrods with surface nanomaces and nanoparticle aggregates could be formed within specific temperature, time, and alkalinity ranges. X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy analyses revealed improvements in material purity and phase composition control with increasing alkalinity and synthesis time.

The intrinsic exchange bias effect in the LaMnO3 and LaFeO3 compounds

Abd El-Moez A. Mohamed et al.

Summary: This study investigated the magnetic and intrinsic exchange bias properties of LaMnO3 and LaFeO3 perovskite compounds. The compounds showed antiferromagnetic nature with observed anomalous ferromagnetic behavior. The presence of the ferromagnetic component, coupled with the antiferromagnetic phase, led to the exchange bias effect in both compounds.

Perovskite-type LaMn1-xBxO3+δ (B = Fe, CO and Ni) as oxygen carriers for chemical looping steam methane reforming

Xianglei Yin et al.

Summary: The doping of Fe, Co and Ni can improve the oxygen release rate of LaMnO3+delta, with the enhancement effect being the best for Ni. The substitution of Fe, Co and Ni can increase the oxygen release amount, CO selectivity and hydrogen yield. LaMn0.7Fe0.3O3+delta and LaMn0.8Co0.2O3+delta could be used as desirable oxygen carriers for cyclic CLSMR.
