Covalently injectable chitosan/chondroitin sulfate hydrogel integrated gelatin/heparin microspheres for soft tissue engineering

Summary: This study reports a method of preparing composite scaffolds based on microspheres and hydrogels using Schiff's base reaction, and examines the performance of the composite scaffolds. Results show that the mechanical and bioactive properties of gelatin/heparin microspheres embedded CMC-OCS hydrogels are significantly improved, making them suitable for soft tissue engineering applications.
