Parents' use of information accessed through social media to make immunisation decisions for their young children

Madelaine Thorpe et al.

Summary: While parents of young children under 7 years of age are exposed to immunisation information on social media, they do not perceive it as credible and do not use it to inform immunisation decisions for their children. Instead, they rely on health care professionals for credible information. Further research into the potential role of health care professionals in disseminating credible immunisation information via social media platforms is needed.
