The Baby Led Weaning (BLW) method allows infants to actively participate in their feeding, promoting their physical and cognitive development, while also reducing stress and anxiety for parents. Proper understanding of this method by parents and health professionals can help ensure correct nutritional status in children and prevent issues such as overweight, obesity, anemia, and malnutrition.
A proper grow and develop of the infant depend on the cares in health and correct feeding during your firsts years of life, at six months of age the complementary feeding has to start, the Baby Led Weaning BLW is new process in which the child is the actor of his feeding. Has been a scientific search of the literature in Spanish and English, most outstanding in last five years, in databases like Pubmed, Scielo, Dialnet, Wiley Online Library, and SpringerLink, getting articles for observational studies, analytics, experimental and bibliographic reviews The BLW method search the child participate active in your alimentation, controlating your feeding, your lunch hours, incorporating solid food with various textures manageable and digestible, with the objective of satisfaction your nutritional requires and promote your cognitive and motor develop, reduce irritability and increase the enjoy of food, at the same time help at the parents to least the stress, anxiety and worried. Start the complementary feeding with BLW method suppose some benefits in social, nutritional and motor develop of the infant, with a correct information about this method the parents and professionals of health can take these practices with the object to keep a correct nutritional status in the child and avoid problems of overweight, obesity, anemia, undernourishment and other drawbacks related with the nutritional status, deficient or excessive.
