This paper presents an analysis of the legal basis and the technical feasibility of using a binomial tariff for Brazilian energy consumers, classified as group B. The primary sources of research were technical reports, academic studies, documents from a public consultation, and data collection on the Brazilian government's official websites. Therefore, the analysis was performed using the techniques of bibliographic and documentary research. The results indicate that it is legally possible to apply this form of billing according to the current legislation, and it is also technically feasible to use the information of the circuit breakers installed for measurement.
