This study conducted a bibliometric analysis and systematic literature review on 196 articles to investigate the impact of pandemics on the resilience of supply chains and the models used in response to COVID-19. The findings suggest that weaknesses in supply chains can inform public policies and assist managers in making decisions.
This study aims to identify how the effects of pandemics affect the resilience of supply chains (SCs) during outbreaks, in addition to highlighting promising fields of study and the most widely used models to assess SCs in dealing with the COVID-19. We develop a graphical framework to understand the current state-of-the-art of pandemics/epidemics in SCs and elaborate a roadmap with 11 prominent research directions for SCs in facing COVID-19. For that, we performed a bibliometric analysis combined with a systematic literature review based on 196 articles from Scopus and WoS databases, from 1997 to June 2020. This review will provide an increased understanding of the current state-of-the-art in pandemic outbreaks, including trends and opportunities for future research in SCs agenda against COVID-19 pandemic. Besides, the weaknesses identified in SCs can serve as a basis for public policies that ensure greater resilience. Secondly, our findings can help manager's decisions.
