Differential susceptibility to misleading flat earth arguments on youtube

Asheley R. Landrum et al.

Summary: YouTube plays a significant role in spreading Flat Earth ideology, with individuals' susceptibility being influenced by their level of science intelligence and conspiracy mentality. People with higher conspiracy mentality are more likely to find the arguments compelling, while those with higher science intelligence perceive the argument strength to decrease. The content of the videos, whether science-based, conspiracy-based, or religious-based, also affects individuals' perceptions of argument strength.
