Shahnaz Aziz et al.

Summary: Workaholism is positively correlated with weekly hours worked and negative affect (NA), while mindfulness is negatively correlated with NA; mindfulness moderates the relationship between workaholism and NA, with higher levels of mindfulness decreasing the impact of workaholism on NA; developing mindfulness through practices like meditation can reduce the compulsive behavior of workaholics and weaken the relationship with negative affect.

The impact of workaholism on day-level workload and emotional exhaustion, and on longer-term job performance

Cristian Balducci et al.

Summary: The first study explored how workaholic tendencies affect daily workload and emotional exhaustion, while the second study found that workaholism did not directly impact job performance, with work engagement playing a positive role. The findings suggest the need for further research on the impacts of workaholism on both health and job performance.
