Mobilizing private sector investment for climate action: enhancing ambition and scaling up implementation

Nexus between green finance and climate change mitigation in N-11 and BRICS countries: empirical estimation through difference in differences (DID) approach

Overall, the difference in differences (DID) method showed no significant difference among the countries.

Analyzing the Characteristics of Green Bond Markets to Facilitate Green Finance in the Post-COVID-19 World

Summary: The COVID-19 pandemic and global recessions have reduced investments in green projects worldwide, jeopardizing climate-related goals. To address this, the post-COVID-19 world needs to embrace a green financial system through new financial instruments like green bonds. Although these bonds are effective in combating climate change, they also come with high risks, low returns, and significant heterogeneity. In Asia, the green bonds market is dominated by the banking sector, showcasing higher returns but also higher risks and variability. Recommendations for policymakers include increasing the return rate of banking sector bonds through tax spillover and encouraging diversification of issuers with more involvement from the public sector and de-risking policies.
