Construction of Zn/Ni Bimetallic Organic Framework Derived ZnO/NiO Heterostructure with Superior N-Propanol Sensing Performance

Yuming Zhao et al.

Summary: In this work, a Zn/Ni bimetallic organic framework was successfully synthesized for the first time using a facile ion exchange postsynthetic strategy, and then transformed into a ZnO/NiO heterostructure. A sensor based on this heterostructure exhibited ultrahigh response, remarkable selectivity, and low detection limit, outperforming current state-of-the-art sensors.

Oxygen-facilitated dynamic active-site generation on strained MoS2 during photo-catalytic hydrogen evolution

Longlu Wang et al.

Summary: It is found that the synthesis strategy of oxygen substitution in MoS2 can enhance its catalytic performance in the hydrogen evolution reaction, resulting in an increased hydrogen production rate. Proper oxygen substitution and strain can modulate the surface electronic state of MoS2, optimizing the Gibbs free energy and accelerating the catalytic efficiency.

Tunable charge transfer efficiency in HxMoO3@ZnIn2S4 hierarchical direct Z-scheme heterojunction toward efficient visible-light-driven hydrogen evolution

Fangshu Xing et al.

Summary: Hierarchical direct Z-scheme composites of ultrathin ZnIn2S4 nanosheets on HxMoO3 nanobelts exhibit significantly higher H-2-production activity than pristine ZnIn2S4. The high conductivity and tunable charge transfer efficiency of the HxMoO3 component contribute to the effective transport of charge carriers. The hierarchical architecture increases intimate interface for effective separation of electron-hole pairs and exposes more reactive sites.

Study on the photocatalytic performance of TiO2 composited with Ag3PO4 based on biological template

Bo Qiu et al.

Summary: The hollow tubular structure of kapok fiber was successfully replicated and used as a photocatalytic carrier material to enhance the photocatalytic performance. Ag3PO4 particles with small size were prepared at room temperature through simple stirring, leading to the preparation of Ag3PO4/TiO2 composite material. The composite showed significantly improved photodegradation performance compared to pristine TiO2.

Selective photocatalytic reduction CO2 to CH4 on ultrathin TiO2 nanosheet via coordination activation

Zhi-Wen Wang et al.

Summary: Ultra-thin TiO2 nanosheet (NST) with abundant Ti3+ sites has been developed as a photocatalyst for high yield and selectivity in the conversion of CO2 to CH4. The NST selectively activates CO2 on its surface, forming bridging Ti dot CO2-Ti coordination species to lower the activation energy barrier and determine the selectivity for CH4 production via Ti-C coordination bond.

Design of p-n homojunctions in metal-free carbon nitride photocatalyst for overall water splitting

Gang Zhao et al.

Summary: In this study, two-dimensional carbon nitride photocatalysts with heterogeneous structures were successfully prepared and exhibited high photocatalytic activity. The photocatalysts showed promising results for overall water splitting processes, with hydrogen and oxygen production rates reaching 270.95 mu mol h(-1) g(-1) and 115.21 mu mol h(-1) g(-1) in 7 hours, respectively. Various tests and analyses confirmed the high efficiency of the photocatalysts, which can promote their development in the field.

Constructing low-cost Ni3C/twin-crystal Zn0.5Cd0.5S heterojunction/homojunction nanohybrids for efficient photocatalytic H2 evolution

Rongchen Shen et al.

Summary: This study combines low-cost metallic Ni3C cocatalysts with twin nanocrystal Zn0.5Cd0.5S (ZCS) solid solution homojunctions to achieve efficient visible-light-driven H-2 evolution. The ZCS-1 heterojunction/homojunction nanohybrid shows the highest photocatalytic H-2-evolution rate, indicating a more efficient photocatalytic H-2 evolution compared to other noble metal photocatalytic systems. The unique strategy of constructing heterojunction/homojunction hybrid nanostructures demonstrates improved catalytic activity for H-2 evolution under visible light.
