Functionalized g-C3N4 nanosheets for potential use in magnetic resonance imaging-guided sonodynamic and nitric oxide combination therapy

Summary: A new theranostic nanoplatform has been developed by functionalizing oxidized graphite phase carbon nitride (OCN) nanosheets to enhance the therapeutic efficiency of sonodynamic therapy. The OCN-PEG(Ce6-Gd3+)/BNN6 nanocomposite integrates magnetic resonance imaging, SDT, and NO-based gas therapy functions, effectively inhibiting tumor growth. OCN-PEG(Ce6-Gd3+)/BNN6 exhibits significantly enhanced T-1-weighted contrast performance and can be a promising theranostic agent for enhancing tumor treatment efficacy.
