Convection heat transfer under the effect of uniform and periodic magnetic fields with uniform internal heat generation: a new comprehensive work to develop the ability of the multi relaxation time lattice Boltzmann method

Mohammad Nemati et al.

Summary: This study investigates the impact of magnetic field angle on nanofluid flow characteristics and natural convection heat transfer using the MRT-LBM method. Results show that increasing magnetic field strength reduces the average Nusselt number, while periodically applying the magnetic field increases heat transfer efficiency. Non-uniform effects of magnetic field application become more significant with increasing cavity aspect ratio.

Magnetohydrodynamics thermogravitational convective in a novel I-shaped wavy-walled enclosure considering various inner hot pipe locations

Ammar Abdulkadhim et al.

Summary: This study numerically investigates natural convection within an I-shaped wavy-walled enclosure filled with multi-pipes of heat exchangers and saturated with nanofluid. The results show that the number of undulations should be 1 for optimal heat transfer and locating the inner pipe at the bottom of the enclosure is recommended. Furthermore, increasing Rayleigh number, Darcy number, MHD inclination angle, and reducing porous layer thickness and Hartmann number all enhance heat transfer.

The interfacial nanolayer role on magnetohydrodynamic natural convection of an Al2O3-water nanofluid

Lefteris Th Benos et al.

Summary: This analytical study focuses on the laminar steady-state two-dimensional magnetohydrodynamic natural convection within a shallow enclosure filled with an Al2O3-water nanofluid. The study incorporates the role of a nanolayer adjacent to solid particles to understand the anomalous heat conducting properties of nanofluids, and examines the effects of nanoparticle volume fraction and size on the cooling process. The results suggest that altering nanoparticle size, increasing volume fraction, and enlarging nanolayer thickness can all impact nanofluid motion and heat transfer.

Non-Darcian natural convection of a nanofluid due to triangular fins within trapezoidal enclosures partially filled with a thermal non-equilibrium porous layer

Sameh E. Ahmed

Summary: The numerical simulations investigated the convective transport due to triangular fins within an inclined trapezoidal enclosure containing a nanofluid layer and a non-Darcy porous layer. The study applied a local thermal non-equilibrium model and considered various cases based on the perimeter of the triangular fin. The results showed that the average Nusselt number increased significantly with varying Nield parameter and higher values of aspect ratio A and trapezoidal angle phi supported nanofluid activity.

Prospects of measuring Rb in hadronic Z decays at the CEPC

B. Li et al.

Summary: With an integrated luminosity of 45 ab-1 at s=91.2 GeV, more than 1012 Z bosons will be produced at the CEPC, allowing for precise study of Z boson physics. The study in this paper focuses on measuring the relative partial width Rb of Z boson into b quarks using the double-tagging method, demonstrating good performance and successful verification through a closure test. Systematic errors related to b-tagging efficiencies and hemisphere correlation are investigated and studied preliminarily.

Study of pore-scale coke combustion in porous media using lattice Boltzmann method

Timan Lei et al.

Summary: This study proposes a multiple-relaxation time lattice Boltzmann method to simulate solid coke combustion in porous media at the pore scale. The model considers thermal expansion effects and conjugate heat transfer, providing more accurate combustion dynamics. The simulations validate the superior performance of the developed LB model in reproducing coke combustion and capturing variations in isotherms at the pore scale.

Optimal wall natural convection for a non-Newtonian fluid with heat generation/absorption and magnetic field in a quarter-oval inclined cavity

Mohammad Nemati et al.

Summary: This study investigates natural convection heat transfer in a two-dimensional inclined quarter-oval cavity filled with a non-Newtonian power-law fluid under the influence of a magnetic field using the Lattice Boltzmann Method. The effects of various physical parameters on flow and heat transfer are analyzed, providing insights for the optimal design of industrial thermal equipment. Results show significant changes in flow behavior and heat transfer characteristics based on different parameters, with implications for practical applications in thermal engineering.

Dariush Ebrahimi et al.

Summary: The primary objective of this study is to investigate the computational modeling of laminar mixed convection heat transfer of nanofluids inside a CESC, revealing that the use of nanofluids with higher volume fractions enhances heat transfer. Control parameters and fluid behaviors during the study process also play a significant role in affecting heat transfer efficiency.

Summary: This article investigates the fully developed natural convective flow of heat-generating/absorbing fluid in an open-ended vertical concentric annulus under a magnetic field. The study finds that an increase in the heat generation/absorption parameter leads to higher temperatures and that the temperature and velocity can be controlled by selecting suitable values of the heat generation/absorption parameter and Hartmann number.
