Multibaric sampling for machine learning potential construction

Kazutoshi Miwa

Summary: The study combines on-the-fly machine learning potential (MLP) generation scheme with multibaric-isothermal (MUBA) ensemble simulation to predict phase stability under various pressures. The MUBA simulation efficiently samples physically relevant configurations in a wide range of volumes without needing an explicit bias potential. By dynamically collecting training sample structures using MLP and utilizing simultaneous error estimation, the constructed MLP shows high accuracy comparable to DFT calculations for predicting phase stability.
