Antiferromagnetic skyrmion crystals in the Rashba Hund's insulator on triangular lattice

Arnob Mukherjee et al.

Summary: In this study, theoretical and computational analysis of a spin-orbit coupled correlated Hund's insulator magnet on a triangular lattice reveals the stabilization of two distinct antiferromagnetic skyrmion crystal (AF-SkX) states at low temperatures in the presence of an external magnetic field. These AF-SkX phases are understood to originate from a classical spin liquid state that exists at low but finite temperatures.

Antiferromagnetic skyrmion-based logic gates controlled by electric currents and fields

Xue Liang et al.

Summary: The research team investigated the dynamics of skyrmions in antiferromagnets and found a way to control them using driving current and voltage-controlled magnetic anisotropy gradient. They also proposed a design of logic computing gates based on skyrmion manipulation, which successfully performed basic Boolean operations.

Skyrmion crystals in centrosymmetric itinerant magnets without horizontal mirror plane

Ryota Yambe et al.

Summary: This study investigates a new stabilization mechanism of a skyrmion crystal in a centrosymmetric itinerant magnets with magnetic anisotropy, revealing that the anisotropic RKKY interaction leads to distinct skyrmion crystals with different skyrmion numbers. The study also clarifies that a phase arising from the multiple-Q spin density waves serves as a control parameter for a field-induced topological phase transition between the skyrmion crystals, providing insights for understanding and exploring further skyrmion-hosting materials in trigonal itinerant magnets.

Antiskyrmions and Bloch skyrmions in magnetic Dresselhaus metals

Deepak S. Kathyat et al.

Summary: In this study, a microscopic electronic description of how antiskyrmions can be stabilized in a Dresselhaus spinorbit-coupled magnetic metal is presented. It is shown that antiskyrmions can be tuned into Bloch skyrmions via a change in sign of the hopping integral, based on state-of-the-art hybrid Monte Carlo simulations of lattice models explicitly involving itinerant electrons. The results highlight an important and useful connection between generic features of the band structure and topological spin textures of immense current interest.

In-plane magnetic field-induced skyrmion crystal in frustrated magnets with easy-plane anisotropy

Satoru Hayami

Summary: The theoretical investigation reveals that a skyrmion crystal (SkX) can be realized in frustrated triangular magnets with easy-plane single-ion anisotropy by applying an in-plane magnetic field. In addition to SkX, multiple-Q states are also stabilized in the presence of easy-plane anisotropy. This study provides a new possibility to explore SkX in easy-plane frustrated magnets.

Electronic mechanism for nanoscale skyrmions and topological metals

Deepak S. Kathyat et al.

Summary: This study reports a microscopic electronic mechanism for nanoscale skyrmion formation and topological metalicity related to Rashba and double-exchange physics. The research identifies different hexagonal and square lattice arrangements of skyrmions in two parameter space regimes. It also emphasizes the importance of consistent treatment of spin-orbit coupling in calculating electronic properties of metals hosting unconventional magnetic textures like skyrmions.
