Limiting radiation exposure during prostatic arteries embolization: influence of patient characteristics, anatomical conditions, and technical factors

Matthias Barral et al.

Summary: The study found that using large display monitors and cone beam computed tomography can significantly reduce radiation exposure during prostatic arteries embolization (PAE) for benign prostatic hyperplasia. Lower patient BMI, shorter fluoroscopy time, CBCT use, and decreased number of acquisitions were associated with reduced air kerma dosage.
