Quadrupolar charge dynamics in the nonmagnetic FeSe1−xSx superconductors

Weilu Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, polarization-resolved electronic Raman spectroscopy was used to investigate quadrupolar charge dynamics in a nonmagnetic FeSe1-xSx superconductor. Two types of long-wavelength XY symmetry excitations were observed, including a low-energy quasi-elastic scattering peak and a broad electronic continuum with a maximum at 55 meV. The development of a pseudogap in the quadrupole scattering channel is interpreted as a transition from a non-Fermi liquid regime to a Fermi liquid regime in the broken-symmetry nematic phase.
