Cellular extrusion bioprinting improves kidney organoid reproducibility and conformation

Kynan T. Lawlor et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates the use of extrusion-based three-dimensional cellular bioprinting to rapidly and efficiently generate kidney organoids with highly reproducible cell number and viability. This technology not only improves throughput and quality control in organoid production, but also facilitates precise control of structure, enhancing the in vitro and in vivo applications of stem cell-derived human kidney tissue.

Polymer Self-Assembly Induced Enhancement of Ice Recrystallization Inhibition

Panagiotis G. Georgiou et al.

Summary: Nanoparticles obtained by polymerization-induced self-assembly (PISA) were found to inhibit ice recrystallization, showing that the size and crowding of polymers may increase the ice recrystallization inhibition activity of non-active polymers. Additionally, it was discovered that poly(vinylpyrrolidone) particles had ice crystal shaping activity, indicating their ability to engage ice crystal surfaces.
