Estimation of LD50 and effect of sodium azide on germination and seedling parameters of different cultivars of Cajanus cajan (L.) Millspaugh

Lakshmi Chaudhary et al.

Summary: The study determined LD50 and seedling parameters response of pigeon pea cultivars to varying concentrations of sodium azide. Different cultivars showed differential tolerance to SA, with 'Manak' being the most tolerant and 'VLA 1' being the most sensitive. Further research is recommended to identify favorable mutants for increased crop value.

Efficacy of carboxymethyl cellulose and gum arabic edible coatings in combination with moringa leaf extract in improving postharvest quality of 'Maluma' avocado fruit

S. F. Kubheka et al.

Summary: Edible coatings incorporating 1% carboxymethyl cellulose and moringa leaf extract significantly reduced the changes in phytochemical compounds and maintained high sensory quality of avocado fruit compared to control, indicating its potential for commercialization in the fresh produce industry.

Control of mango decay using antifungal sachets containing of thyme oil/modified starch/agave fructans microcapsules

Fabiola Esquivel-Chavez et al.

Summary: The aim of this study was to control phytopathogens associated with mango decay by exposing them to antifungal thyme oil-starch/agave fructans microcapsules in Nylon sachets. Results showed that different doses of the microcapsules effectively inhibited the growth of pathogens and reduced the incidence and severity of Colletotrichum gloeosporioides in mango.
