Dual-ligand and hard-soft-acid-base strategies to optimize metal-organic framework nanocrystals for stable electrochemical cycling performance

Shasha Zheng et al.

Summary: In this study, dual-ligand and hard-soft-acid-base strategies were used to synthesize MOF nanocrystals with controllable morphology. The 2D nanosheets showed higher specific capacitance compared to 1D nanofibers and 3D aggregates. By configuring two aqueous asymmetric supercapacitive devices in series, a single device with high output voltage and exceptional cycling performance was achieved.

Bimetallic Metal-Organic Framework with High-Adsorption Capacity toward Lithium Polysulfides for Lithium-sulfur Batteries

Pengbiao Geng et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates that incorporating Cu2+ into Al-MOF to form bimetallic Al/Cu-MOF as a sulfur host material can improve the adsorption capacity to lithium polysulfides. The melt-diffusion process to obtain sulfur-containing Al/Cu-MOF-S shows improved cyclic performance in Li-S batteries.

Rational Design and General Synthesis of Multimetallic Metal-Organic Framework Nano-Octahedra for Enhanced Li-S Battery

Wenting Li et al.

Summary: In this study, a series of Mn-based multimetallic MOF nano-octahedra were successfully prepared by a facile one-pot synthetic strategy. These nano-octahedra were used as sulfur hosts to prepare cathodes for Li-S batteries, with MnNi-MIL-100@S cathode exhibiting the best performance. The strategy described here allows for the incorporation of metal ions into MOF architecture, leading to the rational generation of novel multimetallic MOFs, and enables the general synthesis and study of various micro-/nanoscale MOFs in the field of energy storage.
