Elastic Lattice and Excess Charge Carrier Manipulation in 1D-3D Perovskite Solar Cells for Exceptionally Long-Term Operational Stability

Yu Zhan et al.

Summary: In this study, a 1D-3D mixed-dimensional perovskite material is explored to address the instability issue caused by ion migration in organic-inorganic hybrid halide perovskite solar cells. The 1D-3D perovskite shows improved stability and enhanced photovoltaic performance by suppressing ion migration and balancing charge carrier extraction.

Efficient perovskite solar cells via improved carrier management

Jason J. Yoo et al.

Summary: Metal halide perovskite solar cells have shown great potential to disrupt the silicon solar cell market with their improved performance, yet still face limitations in light-harvesting due to charge carrier recombination. Efforts to enhance charge carrier management offer a path to increase device performance and approach the theoretical efficiency limit of PSCs.

Surface Reconstruction of Halide Perovskites During Post-treatment

Shaun Tan et al.

Summary: In recent years, postfabrication surface treatment strategies have played a crucial role in improving the stability and performance of halide perovskite photovoltaics. This study utilized complementary surface-sensitive and depth-resolved techniques to observe the reconstruction of the perovskite surface induced by the common solvent isopropyl alcohol. The findings suggest that isopropyl alcohol assists in the adsorption process of organic ammonium salts to the surface, enhancing their defect passivation effects.

Origin, Influence, and Countermeasures of Defects in Perovskite Solar Cells

Yutian Lei et al.

Summary: Defects are considered to be one of the most significant factors affecting the power conversion efficiency and long-term stability of perovskite solar cells. Various methods to reduce defect density and improve device performance and long-term stability are introduced, including additive engineering, surface passivation, and other physical treatments. Further understanding of defects and the development trends of passivation strategies are also discussed.
