Platelike MFI Crystals with Controlled Crystal Faces Aspect Ratio

Weijiong Dai et al.

Summary: A simple synthetic strategy was developed to reduce the thickness of zeolite crystals along the b-axis, providing a short diffusion path along the straight channel. The synthesized MFI crystals, with micrometer-size along the a- and c-axis and thickness in the tens of nanometers along the b-axis, showed good catalytic activity in the methanol-to-hydrocarbons reaction. The synthesis of platelike MFI crystals was successfully scaled up to a kilogram scale, demonstrating extended catalytic lifetime compared to commercial nanosized samples.

Summary: Mixing high Si/Al ratio ZSM-5 with low Si/Al ratio Zn/ZSM-5 catalysts efficiently converts methanol to aromatics in two steps, enhancing aromatic selectivity and prolonging catalyst lifetime. Optimizing reaction conditions further improves catalytic performance through catalytic synergy.

Gripper-like Silicon Species for Efficient Synthesis of Crystalline Metallosilicates with Spatially Homogeneous Heteroatoms in the Framework

Zhen Chen et al.

Summary: This study presents an efficient strategy for synthesizing crystalline metallosilicates with spatially homogeneous distribution of heteroatoms in zeolite frameworks, through the crystal dissolution and crystallization process (CDC process). The gripper-like silicon species are identified to play a key role in incorporating and distributing heteroatoms effectively during the CDC process. This approach opens up a new perspective for the synthesis of heteroatomic zeolites by controlling the state of silicon species.

Controllable hollow HZSM-5 for high shape-selectivity to light aromatics from catalytic reforming of lignite pyrolysis volatiles

Zhen Yang et al.

Summary: The synthesized hollow hierarchical porosity-tunable ZSM-5 exhibited higher selectivity for alkylbenzene compared to commercial HZSM-5, showing great potential in promoting the formation of alkyl aromatics in CFP processes. The enhancement of molecules diffusion in crystal center also contributed to the sustained stability of the catalyst during cycle experiments.

Cu-ZSM-5 Catalyst Impregnated with Mn-Co Oxide for the Selected Catalytic Reduction of NO: Physicochemical Property-Catalytic Activity Relationship and In Situ DRIFTS Study for the Reaction Mechanism

Hongyan Xue et al.

Summary: A series of MnCo/Cu-Z catalysts with different Mn/Co ratios were prepared and investigated for the SCR of NO with NH3. The Mn1Co2/Cu-Z catalyst showed the highest activity, with high-valent metal ion enrichment and improved metal oxide reducibility contributing to its enhanced catalytic performance. The nitrate species on the catalyst surface and SCR mechanism play crucial roles in the catalytic activity of MnCo/Cu-Z.

The synthesis of pure and uniform nanosized TS-1 crystals with a high titanium content and a high space-time yield

Lejian Zhang et al.

Summary: A new protocol was proposed for synthesizing Anatase-free titanium silicalite-1 (TS-1) zeolite with a Si/Ti ratio of 41, which showed high activity for the cyclohexanone ammoximation reaction. ESI-MS and DLS analyses showed that primary silicon species in the liquid seeds significantly accelerated the crystallization of TS-1 zeolite and the incorporation of titanium into the zeolite framework.

Reducing the dosage of the organic structure-directing agent in the crystallization of pure silica zeolite MFI (silicalite-1) for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) adsorption

Zhenrui Mi et al.

Summary: Research showed that reducing TPA(+) during the synthesis of silicalite-1 resulted in better adsorption performance for volatile organic compounds compared to activated carbon, and also higher micropore adsorption efficiency than silicalite-1 seed. The study suggested that silicalite-1 or other zeolites requiring an organic structure-directing agent (OSDA) could potentially be synthesized without OSDA by using an appropriate amount of seed.

Catalytic roles of the acid sites in different pore channels of H-ZSM-5 zeolite for methanol-to-olefins conversion

Sen Wang et al.

Summary: The catalytic performance of H-ZSM-5 zeolite for methanol-to-olefins conversion can be properly regulated by altering the distribution of acid sites within the zeolite framework, particularly the location of Al. Specifically, aromatic cycle and aromatization process preferentially occur at acid sites in the intersection cavities, while polymethylbenzene formation is suppressed at acid sites in the sinusoidal and straight channels. The alkene cycle, on the other hand, can take place at all three types of acid sites with similar energy barriers and probabilities.
