Molecularly Imprinted Nanoparticles (NanoMIPs) Selective for Proteins: Optimization of a Protocol for Solid-Phase Synthesis Using Automatic Chemical Reactor

Cesar Caceres et al.

Summary: Molecularly imprinted polymer nanoparticles (nanoMIPs) are promising synthetic receptors due to their stability, inexpensive synthesis, and easy implementation. One of the most challenging targets for synthetic receptors are proteins, but an automated solid-phase synthesizer can help optimize the synthesis protocol for nanoMIPs with specificity for proteins. The validation of the protocol includes regenerating a solid-phase, measuring affinity and specificity of nanoparticles, and testing different protocols to improve the yield of high affinity nanoparticles.

Snapshot imprinting: rapid identification of cancer cell surface proteins and epitopes using molecularly imprinted polymers

Stanislav S. Piletsky et al.

Summary: Proteomic mapping of cell surfaces is crucial for drug development and clinical diagnostics. The 'snapshot imprinting' method described in this work enables the identification of cell surface markers and epitopes, with potential applications in personalized cancer treatment. The analysis of cancer cell lines and selective targeting of specific epitopes using molecularly imprinted polymer nanoparticles demonstrate the effectiveness of this approach.

Preparation of IgG imprinted polymers by metal-free visible-light-induced ATRP and its application in biosensor

Ru Bai et al.

Summary: In this study, IgG imprinted polymers were successfully prepared on a modified electrode surface, allowing for the detection of IgG with a wider linear range and lower detection limit compared to similar sensors. This non-toxic biosensor introduced an easy method for IgG determination and showcased a progressive approach for designing protein imprinted polymers.

An antifouling electrochemical biosensor based on a protein imprinted hydrogel for human immunoglobulin G recognition in complex biological media

Min Cui et al.

Summary: A specific and long-term antifouling biosensor interface was constructed based on a protein imprinted hydrogel for sensitive analysis of human immunoglobulin G (IgG) in complex biological media. The biosensor showed high sensitivity and selectivity in quantifying target IgG in complex biological samples, with a response range of 0.5 - 200.0 ng/mL and a limit of detection of 0.03 ng/mL (S/N = 3).
