Metrological Detection of Multipartite Entanglement from Young Diagrams

Summary: In this study, metrologically useful multipartite entanglement is characterized by representing partitions with Young diagrams. Entanglement witnesses sensitive to the shape of Young diagrams are derived, and Dyson's rank is shown to be a resource for quantum metrology. The methods presented are experimentally accessible in a wide range of atomic systems, as demonstrated by analyzing published data on quantum Fisher information and spin-squeezing coefficients.

Summary: Certification and quantification of correlations for multipartite states of quantum systems is a central task in quantum information theory. A unitary quantum-mechanical perspective of both entanglement and Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen steering of continuous-variable multimode states is provided, examining correlations of two-party (N vs 1)-mode states using suitable EPR-like observables. Analysis of the minimum properly normalized sums of these variances yields necessary conditions of separability and EPR unsteerability in (N vs 1)-mode states.
