Topography-based statistical modelling reveals high spatial variability and seasonal emission patches in forest floor methane flux

Elisa Vainio et al.

Summary: This study aimed to quantify the spatial variability of boreal forest floor CH4 flux, using topography-based upscaling method to model flux data for two seasons. Results showed that CH4 flux was influenced by soil moisture and ground vegetation, with significant differences between flux rates in early summer and autumn.
