Psychological well-being and demographic factors can mediate soundscape pleasantness and eventfulness: A large sample study

Mercede Erfanian et al.

Summary: Soundscape studies analyze the impact of internal factors such as psychological well-being, age, gender, occupation status, and education levels on the perception of Pleasantness and Eventfulness in sound environments. While internal factors account for a small percentage of variance, the location context plays a significant role in shaping individuals' experiences of soundscapes.

Investigating urban soundscapes of the COVID-19 lockdown: A predictive soundscape modeling approach

Andrew Mitchell et al.

Summary: This study employed a predictive modeling approach to analyze changes in the perception of soundscapes during the 2020 lockdowns in London and Venice. The results showed a decrease in human sounds and an increase in natural sounds during the lockdown, while contextual information prior to lockdowns played an important role in predicting pleasantness.
