WeChat usage during COVID-19 pandemic lockdown: the mediating role of online self-disclosure on quality of friendship and well-being

Summary: This study investigates university students' WeChat usage during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, focusing on the mediating role of online self-disclosure on the quality of friendship and well-being. Results indicate that online self-disclosure mediates the relationship between interactions on WeChat and quality of friendship, as well as between WeChat interaction and well-being. The findings provide insights on how WeChat usage affects people's socio-psychological aspects during a crisis.
