Exploring genetic variation among Jordanian Solanum lycopersicon L. landraces and their performance under salt stress using SSR markers

Ibrahim M. Makhadmeh et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the performance and response of 39 tomato landraces from Jordan under salt stress conditions. The results showed significant variations in morphological traits at the seedling stage, and landrace number 24 exhibited the highest salt tolerance. Genetic characterization using SSR markers revealed a high level of genetic diversity among the landraces. This research provides valuable insights for improving salt tolerance in tomato breeding programs.

Comparison of matK and rbcL DNA barcodes for genetic classification of jewel orchid accessions in Vietnam

Viet The Ho et al.

Summary: The study identified 21 jewel orchid accessions into four different species with significant variations. The rbcL gene showed higher distinguishing potential than the matK gene alone or the combination of both genes, providing valuable information for classification, plant origin identification, breeding, and conservation program of jewel orchid in Vietnam.
