This project studied the properties of modified concrete in which rubber tyre waste was used to partially replace coarse aggregates. The strength properties of different percentages of replacement were tested and compared with ordinary concrete.
Concrete is the most commonly used and adaptive construction material across the country. A larger amount of rubber tyre waste is being generated everyday which possesthe disposal problems and has harmful environmental effects. In this project, we have studied the properties of modified concrete in which the coarse aggregate were partially replaced byrubber tyre waste for 5%,10%&15% by coarse aggregate weight. In this project, each percentagecontains three cubes, prisms and cylinders which were tested for strength properties after 7 days, 14 daysand 28 days of curing. The specimens of werecasted to evaluate the strength properties like compressive strength, flexural strength and tensile strength and compared these strength properties with those of ordinary concrete.Copyright (c) 2022 Elsevier Ltd.
