Inducing photocarrier separation via 3D porous faveolate cross-linked carbon to enhance photothermal/pyroelectric property

Meng Li et al.

Summary: In this study, a CdS/Bi2S3@C composite photocatalyst was constructed, where Bi2S3 nanoparticles acted as photothermal agents and pyroelectric materials to convert near infrared light into heat. The 3D porous faveolate carbon structure provided thermal insulation and optimized the photothermal effects. The results showed that a larger temperature difference enhanced the pyroelectric effect, resulting in the separation of electrons and holes in the CdS photocatalyst and increasing the hydrogen evolution rate.
