A Novel, Efficient, and Recoverable Basic Fe3O4@C Nano-Catalyst for Green Synthesis of 4H-Chromenes in Water via One-Pot Three Component Reactions

Summary: A novel basic carbon coated magnetic nanoparticles were synthesized and used as an efficient, environmentally friendly, and easily recoverable catalyst for green synthesis of 4H-chromenes in water. The method utilized non-toxic and inexpensive materials and solvents, with simple work-up procedures. The stability and reusability of the recycled nanocatalyst were demonstrated after multiple runs, and the synthesized magnetic nanocatalyst was thoroughly characterized through various analyses.

Summary: The bio-based magnetic nano-catalyst Fe3O4@NCs/Cu(II) was prepared by adding CuCl2 to Fe3O4@NCs in alkaline medium, and successfully used for the synthesis of a series of indenopyrido [2,3-d] pyrimidines in ethanol. The efficient and eco-friendly catalyst showed good yields, short reaction times, and easy work-up, making it suitable for reuse in subsequent experiments.

Summary: Today, due to the increasing demand for inexpensive catalysts, recyclable magnetic nanocatalysts immobilized on polysaccharides have shown more advantages compared to traditional heterogeneous catalysts. Xanthan gum, a low-cost polysaccharide with acidic features, has a wide range of applications in catalysis science and technology. The magnetically recoverable Fe3O4@xanthan gum biopolymer nanocatalyst was prepared by in-situ method, demonstrating its potential for efficient synthesis of compounds.

Summary: In this study, a waste-based magnetic composite hydrogel was successfully fabricated and applied for the removal of heavy metal ions and dyes from water. The composite exhibited high adsorption efficiency and capacity for MB, Cd (II), and Pb (II), with excellent reusability. The results suggest that this AABHD composite could be effectively employed for the simultaneous elimination of MB and metal ions from wastewater.

Optical and magnetic properties of small-size core-shell Fe3O4@C nanoparticles
