Investigation of Mn doped perovskite La-Mn oxides for NH3-SCR activity and SO2/H2O resistance

Aidong Fan et al.

Summary: A series of Mn-doped perovskite La-Mn oxides were prepared and evaluated for NH3-SCR activity, showing excellent performance in low-temperature SCR and resistance to SO2 and H2O. Mn doping altered the redox properties of La-Mn oxides, but the presence of SO2 and H2O weakened the redox properties and acidity of the catalyst. Mn doping enhanced NH3 adsorption and accelerated the decomposition of ammonium sulfate, improving SO2 resistance.

Primary factors affecting denitrification efficiency of V-based catalysts in low-temperature selective catalytic reduction using NH3

Jong Min Won et al.

Summary: The denitrification efficiency of vanadium-based catalyst for low-temperature NH3-SCR highly depends on the structural species of VOx and the physicochemical properties of the catalyst. Factors identified to enhance the activity of low-temperature NH3-SCR include well dispersed monomeric VOx species, NH3-Lewis acid sites, and high oxygen mobility. Adsorbed oxygen species on the catalyst surface play a reactive role in enhancing oxygen mobility for low-temperature NH3-SCR.

Microkinetic study of NO oxidation, standard and fast NH3-SCR on CeWOx at low temperatures

Kuo Liu et al.

Summary: A comprehensive microkinetic model was established for NO oxidation, standard SCR and fast SCR on CeWOx at low temperatures, revealing different rate-limiting steps and reaction orders for different reactions. The mechanisms of standard and fast SCR were found to be similar, with the reaction between nitrites and adsorbed NH3 playing a key role in NOx conversion. The activation energy of fast SCR was higher due to the reaction between NO and NH4NO3, but more nitrites and NH4NO3 led to higher activity for fast SCR compared to standard SCR.

Investigation of chlorine-poisoning mechanism of MnOx/TiO2 and MnOx-CeO2/TiO2 catalysts during o-DCBz catalytic decomposition: Experiment and first-principles calculation

Feng Lin et al.

Summary: Experimental examination of MnOx/TiO2 and MnOx-CeO2/TiO2 catalysts for the oxidative degradation of 1,2-dichorobenzene (o-DCBz) revealed that Ce addition and high temperature effectively promoted the resistance of MnOx/TiO2 catalyst to Cl poisoning. Meanwhile, Density functional theory (DFT) calculations showed that Cl atom prefers to anchor on surface oxygen vacancy (OV) rather than on top site of Mn atom, which hinders the dissociated adsorption of O-2 on surface OV and interrupts the regeneration of the surface reactive oxygen species.

Two steps synthesis of CeTiOx oxides nanotube catalyst: Enhanced activity, resistance of SO2 and H2O for low temperature NH3-SCR of NOx

Zhiping Zhang et al.

Summary: CeTiOx-T with nanotube structure exhibits excellent catalytic activity, SO2 and H2O tolerance, and stability in NH3-SCR reaction. The strong interaction between Ce and Ti leads to short-range ordered Ce-O-Ti species, resulting in a larger BET surface area and higher NH3-SCR performance than traditional catalysts. In situ DRIFTS results suggest different reaction mechanisms at low and high temperatures over CeTiOx-T.

Mechanism of Ce-Modified Birnessite-MnO2 in Promoting SO2 Poisoning Resistance for Low-Temperature NH3-SCR

Xue Fang et al.

Summary: Ce modification of birnessite-MnO2 catalyst enhances SO2 resistance during NH3-SCR reactions through the formation of sulfates, which play different roles in the reaction mechanism, providing more acid sites for NH4+ adsorption and protecting Mn active centers from deactivation by preferentially adsorbing and oxidizing SO2 on Ce species.
