In this study, a novel fluorescent probe was designed and synthesized, allowing the visualization of the crucial role of peroxynitrite in Alzheimer's disease through in vivo experiments in mice.
We designed and synthesized an oxindole-functionalized two-photon fluorescent probe based on a naphthalimide fluorophore, which enabled in situ visualization of the overwhelming peroxynitrite flux during amyloid-beta-induced neuronal ferroptosis and cerebral peroxynitrite stress in live mice with Alzheimer's disease.
