Improved saccharification of Chlorella vulgaris biomass by fungal secreted for bioethanol

Mohammad Khalil Monjed et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the efficiency of fungal crude enzyme extracts in degrading intact or lipid-extracted Chlorella vulgaris biomass, with the Aspergillus fumigatus extract showing the highest saccharification reaction. Proteomic characterization identified various enzymes in the extracts that can potentially degrade complex carbohydrates, lipids, and proteins in the microalgae biomass, indicating potential for rational design of enzyme cocktails for bioethanol production.

A comprehensive insight into devolatilization thermo-kinetics for an agricultural residue: Towards a cleaner and sustainable energy

Hammad Siddiqi et al.

Summary: This study investigated the conversion of rice stubble feedstock to thermochemical route through kinetic and thermodynamic analysis. The feedstock showed high energy potential with 47.61% carbon content and 14.43 MJ kg-1 heating value. Kinetics analysis revealed a chain initiation and propagation mechanism, along with significant kinetic compensation effect, and a fitting percentage of 69.34% was achieved between experimental data and empirical model.

Synergistic effects of catalytic co-pyrolysis of corn cob and HDPE waste mixtures using weight average global process model

Jia Xin Liew et al.

Summary: This study evaluates the synergistic effects and kinetic parameters for binary mixtures of corn cob and HDPE in co-pyrolysis with the presence of renewable chicken and duck eggshell catalyst using thermogravimetric analysis. The results indicate the existence of synergistic effects during the pyrolysis process, with activation energy values reflecting the presence of catalytic pyrolysis. The study also utilizes artificial neural network and joint optimization modelling to validate and optimize the results from the TGA.
