Design of energy use rights trading policy from the perspective of energy vulnerability

Yuling Pan et al.

Summary: This paper improves the design of energy use rights trading policy in Sichuan Province, China, by setting total energy consumption targets, adopting different allocation models, and simulating the effects on energy vulnerability. The results show that regional energy vulnerability is minimized under the allocation results of Game-EFCAM.

Driving mechanism and decoupling effect of PM2.5 emissions: Empirical evidence from China's industrial sector

Debin Fang et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the spatial-temporal drivers and decoupling effect of industrial PM2.5 emissions in China, revealing that population distribution is the main factor for spatial heterogeneity of industrial PM2.5 emissions, and industrial development effect is the main reason for the increase in emissions. The results provide important insights for reducing industrial PM2.5 emissions.

Temporal-spatial determinants of renewable energy penetration in electricity production: Evidence from EU countries

Bolin Yu et al.

Summary: The study found that investment structure contributes the most to increasing renewable electricity generation, while the energy intensity effect and renewable generation-to-capacity ratio effect are the main reasons for the reduction in renewable electricity generation. The economic scale effect and the investment structure effect are dominating factors accounting for the regional difference of renewable power generation between the EU countries and the benchmark region. The progress of renewable electricity penetration accelerates over time for the EU, western EU, and eastern EU. On the whole, the investment effect makes the largest contribution to promoting renewable electricity penetration.

Decoupling economic growth from energy-related PM2.5 emissions in China: A GDIM-based indicator decomposition

Bolin Yu et al.

Summary: The study found that the increase in PM2.5 emissions is mainly due to the output scale effect and energy use effect, while the emission intensity effect and emission coefficient effect primarily contribute to decreasing PM2.5 emissions. China and its three economic regions shifted from strong decoupling in 1998-2000 to weak decoupling in 2000-2010, and then back to strong decoupling from 2010-2014. The technical effect plays a key role in promoting decoupling, but its contribution is decreasing over time.

Deployment of electric vehicles in China to meet the carbon neutral target by 2060: Provincial disparities in energy systems, CO2 emissions, and cost effectiveness

Runsen Zhang et al.

Summary: This study developed a transport energy model to investigate the penetration trend of electric vehicles (EVs) in different provinces in China and their impacts on energy consumption and emissions. The results indicated that subsidies for EV adoption would significantly boost market share, especially in developed provinces, while northeastern and northwestern regions showed lower economic feasibility and emission reduction potential, requiring more financial assistance for EV promotion.
