Mixed transition-metal oxides@carbon core-shell nanostructures derived from heterometallic clusters for enhanced lithium storage

Summary: This paper presents a flexible strategy for the synthesis of MFe2O4@C HPSs, which are 3D hierarchical porous structures assembled with MFe2O4 nanoparticles confined within a carbon outer shell. These structures exhibit high capacity, cycling stability, and rate performance, thanks to the interconnected conductive carbon shells that facilitate fast ion and electron transport.

Implementing an in-situ carbon formation of MoO3 nanoparticles for high performance lithium-ion battery

Summary: In this study, MoO3 nanoparticles were synthesized using tamarind seed powder as a novel fuel for a simple solution combustion method. The presence of carbon in the MoO3 nanoparticles provided excellent electrochemical performance, with initial discharge capacity of 1171 mAhg(-1) and stable capacity of 162 mAhg(-1) after 200 cycles, with a close to 100% Columbic efficiency.
