miR-142 downregulation alleviates rat PTSD-like behaviors, reduces the level of inflammatory cytokine expression and apoptosis in hippocampus, and upregulates the expression of fragile X mental retardation protein

Peng-Yin Nie et al.

Summary: The study showed that silencing miR-142 could alleviate symptoms of PTSD-like behaviors in rats by decreasing proinflammatory mediators, increasing synaptic protein levels, and affecting neuron morphology.

Circular RNA CircNOLC1, Upregulated by NF-KappaB, Promotes the Progression of Prostate Cancer via miR-647/PAQR4 Axis

Wenbin Chen et al.

Summary: Our study identified that circNOLC1 is overexpressed in prostate cancer cells and tissues, promoting proliferation and migration of tumor cells while activating the PI3K/Akt pathway through the miR-647/PAQR4 axis. We also showed that NF-kappaB upregulates circNOLC1, leading to the progression of prostate cancer.

Inhibition of CD38 and supplementation of nicotinamide riboside ameliorate lipopolysaccharide-induced microglial and astrocytic neuroinflammation by increasing NAD+

Jureepon Roboon et al.

Summary: Neuroinflammation is a critical pathological process in various neurological conditions, and the direct impact of brain NAD(+) levels and CD38 gene on neuroinflammation has been demonstrated. Inhibiting CD38 and supplementing NAD(+) can effectively suppress neuroinflammation.

Intracerebral Injection of Heme Induces Lipid Peroxidation, Neuroinflammation, and Sensorimotor Deficits

Luiz Ricardo C. Vasconcellos et al.

Summary: The study established a model in mice for intrastriatal heme injection, causing lipid peroxidation, neuroinflammation, and sensorimotor deficits. Heme induced brain damage and reactive astrogliosis, along with behavior deficits. NLRP3 was found to play a role in heme-induced behavior deficits in this model.

Protein network exploration prioritizes targets for modulating neuroinflammation in Parkinson's disease

Marie-Amandine Bonte et al.

Summary: Parkinson's disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disease associated with neuroinflammation and a loss of dopaminergic neurons. The protein network involved in Parkinson's disease neuroinflammation includes various biological processes, with Toll-like Receptor Cascades and Interleukin 4, 10, and 13 signaling pathways being the most significantly enriched. Through network analysis, 8 key proteins with the highest ability to control the underlying biological processes of neuroinflammation were identified as potential drug targets.

Protocatechuic Acid Suppresses Microglia Activation and Facilitates M1 to M2 Phenotype Switching in Intracerebral Hemorrhage Mice

Zhiyu Xi et al.

Summary: The study showed that protocatechuic acid impacts microglia activation by suppressing the mTOR signaling pathway, thus improving M1/M2 switch and attenuating neuroinflammation.
