The relationship between atmospheric boundary layer and temperature inversion layer and their aerosol capture capabilities

Boming Liu et al.

Summary: The study investigated the relationship between the atmospheric boundary layer and the temperature inversion layer, and examined their correlation with aerosol capture capabilities. The results indicated that temperature inversion intensity is a key factor in determining the aerosol capture ability.

A New Algorithm for Himawari-8 Aerosol Optical Depth Retrieval by Integrating Regional PM2.5 Concentrations

Weiwei Xu et al.

Summary: In this study, a new aerosol retrieval algorithm for AHI by integrating regional PM2.5 concentrations was proposed. The algorithm showed better accuracy in retrieving aerosol optical depth (AOD) compared to the existing JAXA L2 algorithm, especially during autumn in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. The algorithm also demonstrated stable performance regardless of viewing angle.

Quantifying CO2 Uptakes Over Oceans Using LIDAR: A Tentative Experiment in Bohai Bay

Tianqi Shi et al.

Summary: Oceans are considered significant offsets to anthropogenic CO2 emissions, with a need for effective monitoring of global sea-air CO2 fluxes. This study utilized data from a flight test to explore the potential of a novel means in estimating oceanic CO2 fluxes. The results confirmed CO2 uptake in the Bohai Bay and showed promise for the new CO2 measuring method.

A model for urban biogenic CO2 fluxes: Solar-Induced Fluorescence for Modeling Urban biogenic Fluxes (SMUrF v1)

Dien Wu et al.

Summary: The study highlights the challenges in estimating fossil fuel carbon dioxide emissions in urban areas due to biogenic carbon exchanges. By developing a simple model representation, it was possible to estimate ecosystem respiration and gross primary production across cities globally. Through advanced data analysis and modeling, the study provides valuable insights into the dynamics of biogenic carbon fluxes in urban environments.
