Quantum teleportation of hybrid qubits and single-photon qubits using Gaussian resources

Soumyakanti Bose et al.

Summary: In this study, we compare single-photon qubits and hybrid qubits as information carriers for quantum teleportation. Hybrid qubits, which are entangled states of a coherent state and a single photon, outperform photonic qubits at low coherent amplitudes (alpha less than or similar to 1), while single-photon qubits yield better results for larger amplitudes. We also analyze the effect of photon losses and observe that the overall character of teleportation remains the same for different qubits, although the teleportation fidelities are degraded. Our work provides a comparative analysis of practical quantum information processing with different types of qubits.
