AdS-dS stationary rotating black hole exact solution within Einstein-nonlinear electrodynamics

Alberto A. Garcia-Diaz

Summary: This report presents the exact rotating charged black hole solution in the Einstein-nonlinear electrodynamics theory with a cosmological constant. The solution fulfills the energy conditions, has event horizons, and exhibits a ring singularity.

Emergence of non-linear electrodynamic theories from T(T)over-bar-like deformations

H. Babaei-Aghbolagh et al.

Summary: In this letter, we investigate the deformation of the ModMax theory and show that it is the generalized non-linear Born-Infeld electrodynamics. Inspired by the invariance under the flow equation for Born-Infeld theories, we propose a T(T)bar-like operator generating the ModMax and generalized Born-Infeld non-linear electrodynamic theories from the usual Maxwell and Born-Infeld theories, respectively.

Generalized Lense-Thirring metrics: higher-curvature corrections and solutions with matter

Finnian Gray et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a generalization of Lense-Thirring spacetimes to higher dimensions with multiple rotations, allowing for the study of slowly rotating spacetimes in various higher curvature gravities and with non-trivial matter. It also shows that in four dimensions, Einstein gravity is the only non-trivial theory among all up to quartic curvature gravities that admits a Lense-Thirring solution characterized by a single metric function.

Thermodynamics of nonlinearly charged anti-de Sitter black holes in four-dimensional critical gravity

Abigail Alvarez et al.

Summary: In this paper, we present new examples of anti-de Sitter black holes with a planar base manifold in four-dimensional critical gravity by considering nonlinear electrodynamics as a matter source. We find a general solution characterized by the presence of only one integration constant, where the existence of one or more horizons can be shown for a suitable choice of coupling constants. Additionally, we calculate its nonzero thermodynamical quantities and examine the validity of the first law of thermodynamics as well as a Smarr formula. Finally, we analyze the local thermodynamical stability of the solutions. To the best of our knowledge, these charged configurations are the first examples in critical gravity where their thermodynamical quantities are not zero.

Slowly rotating black holes with exact Killing tensor symmetries

Finnian Gray et al.

Summary: We present a novel family of slowly rotating black hole solutions that extend the well known Lense-Thirring spacetime and solve the field equations to linear order in rotation parameter. These solutions have the remarkable properties that they can be cast in the manifestly regular Painleve'-Gullstrand form near the black hole horizon, and they admit exact Killing tensor symmetries. In higher dimensions, these generalized Lense-Thirring spacetimes feature a rapidly growing number of exact irreducible Killing tensors, giving a first example of a physical spacetime with more hidden than explicit symmetries.

Resolution of Reissner-Nordstrom singularities by higher-derivative corrections

Pablo A. Cano et al.

Summary: The study presents a non-minimal higher-derivative extension of Einstein-Maxwell theory, where electrically-charged black holes and point charges exhibit globally regular gravitational and electromagnetic fields. An exact static, spherically symmetric solution is provided to regulate the singularity at r = 0 for arbitrary mass and non-vanishing charge, while reducing to the Reissner-Nordstrom solution at weak coupling. The discussion focuses on the properties of these solutions and the physical significance of the results.

Taub-NUT solutions in conformal electrodynamics

Alvaro Ballon Bordo et al.

Summary: A novel charged Taub-NUT spacetime is constructed as a non-trivial example of the recently proposed ModMax theory, characterized by the conformal symmetry and SO(2) duality-rotation invariance. The spacetime features non-trivial magnetic fields, showcasing the non-linearity of the field compared to Maxwell theory. The thermodynamics of the new solution, the charged black hole limit, and self-dual solutions are briefly discussed.

Static and radiating dyonic black holes coupled to conformally invariant electrodynamics in higher dimensions

David Kokoska et al.

Summary: We investigated the complete family of Robinson-Trautman spacetimes sourced by conformally invariant nonlinear electrodynamics in D dimensions in the presence of an arbitrary cosmological constant. The solutions exist only in even dimensions, with static metrics containing dyonic black holes and different asymptotics. Time-dependent solutions may represent white hole evaporation or black hole formation in a time-reversed picture, and a quasilocal characterization of possible past horizons is discussed.

Black hole thermodynamics in the presence of nonlinear electromagnetic fields

A. Bokulic et al.

Summary: This study rederives the first law of black hole mechanics in the presence of nonlinear electrodynamics fields and discusses the validity of energy conditions, complementary proofs of the zeroth law of black hole electrodynamics, and aspects of the recently generalized Smarr formula, including its (non-)linearity and relation to the first law.

Compatibility of nonlinear electrodynamics models with Robinson-Trautman geometry

T. Tahamtan

Summary: The study investigates Robinson-Trautman solutions with nonlinear electrodynamics for both L(F) and L(F, G) Lagrangians, focusing on models representing regular black holes. The results demonstrate the clear uniqueness of Maxwell electrodynamics in terms of compatibility with the Robinson-Trautman class. Regular black hole models are not suitable for this class, and the famous Born-Infeld model highlights a key distinction between L(F) and L(F, G) in terms of the electric field obtained when the magnetic field is nontrivial.
