Enantioselective C-H Amination Catalyzed by Nickel Iminyl Complexes Supported by Anionic Bisoxazoline (BOX) Ligands

Yuyang Dong et al.

Summary: The chiral trityl-substituted bisoxazoline ligand was prepared as an analog to the previously reported nickel dipyrrin system for ring-closing amination catalysis. The ligand-metal complex exhibited enantioselective intramolecular C-H bond amination with decent yield and moderate enantioselectivity. Kinetic and isotopic studies suggested that the enantioselectivity is determined by both H-atom abstraction and radical capture steps in the reaction mechanism.

A Molecular Low-Coordinate [Fe-S-Fe] Unit in Three Oxidation States

Christian Schneider et al.

Summary: This study reports a dinuclear monosulfido bridged diiron(II) complex with a similar [Fe-S-Fe] core geometry that can be stepwise oxidized to different oxidation states while retaining the core structure. The cleavage of the [Fe-S-Fe] unit by CS2 is also demonstrated in this research. The complexes have been characterized crystallographically and electron structures have been studied using various techniques such as Fe-57 Mossbauer spectroscopy and SQUID magnetometry.

A Pair of Cobalt(III/IV) Terminal Imido Complexes

Weiqing Mao et al.

Summary: The synthesis of high-valent cobalt(IV) imido complex [(TIMMNmes)Co-IV(NAd)](OTf)(2) (4) via reaction with 1-adamantylazide is discussed. Despite a short half-life at room temperature, compound 4 can be isolated at low temperatures in pure form. Experimental and computational analysis confirm the molecular and electronic structure of 4, suggesting high covalency and substantial triplet nitrene character.

High-Spin Imido Cobalt Complexes with Imidyl Radical Character**

Alexander Reckziegel et al.

Summary: In this study, a variety of trigonal imido cobalt complexes were synthesized with very long Co-N-Aryl bonds. Their electronic structure was investigated using physical and spectroscopic methods, leading to the description of highly unusual imidyl cobalt complexes. Computational analyses supported these findings and revealed the role of the high-spin state in the imidyl character.

Catalytic Carbodiimide Guanylation by a Nucleophilic, High Spin Iron(11) Imido Complex

Yafei Gao et al.

Summary: The reduction of a three-coordinate iron(III) imido complex resulted in a rare high-spin iron(II) imido complex with nucleophilic character, leading to an unusual transformation. The guanidinate compound formed in this system acted as an efficient catalyst for the guanylation of carbodiimides, converting a wide range of aniline substrates under mild conditions.

Homoleptic quasilinear metal(I/II) silylamides of Cr-Co with phenyl and allyl functions - impact of the oxidation state on secondary ligand interactions

Ruth Weller et al.

Summary: In this study, the synthesis and characterization of new quasilinear metal silylamides with different silyl substituents are described. It was found that secondary metal-ligand interactions are suppressed upon reduction of phenyl substituents, while introduction of an allyl substituted silylamide leads to additional metal-x-alkene interactions with substantial bending of the principal N-M-N axis.
