N = (2,2) AdS3 from D3-branes wrapped on Riemann surfaces

Christopher Couzens et al.

Summary: In this study, we construct N = (2, 2) supersymmetric AdS(3) solutions in type IIB supergravity, which are dual to twisted compactifications of 4d N = 4 super-Yang-Mills theory on Riemann surfaces. These solutions are interpreted as the near-horizon of black strings that asymptote to AdS(5) x S-5. The computed central charge of the gravity solutions supports the proposed duality, as it matches with the field theory result.

D3-branes and M5-branes wrapped on a topological disc

Minwoo Suh

Summary: In this paper, AdS(3) solutions with non-trivial boundaries are constructed from D3-branes and M5-branes using a method applied previously in constructing AdS(5) solutions. Supersymmetric AdS(3) solutions are found in different dimensional supergravity, and are further uplifted to obtain corresponding configurations.

Non-integrability in AdS3 vacua

Konstantinos S. Rigatos

Summary: This study investigates the classical integrability of certain supergravity vacua containing an AdS(3) factor, using an established method for analyzing non-integrability. The results show that, except in specific limits, all supergravity solutions are non-integrable. This is in contrast to the known integrable solutions AdS(3) x S-3 x S3 x S-1 and AdS(3) x S-3 x T-4.

New AdS2 supergravity duals of 4d SCFTs with defects

Yolanda Lozano et al.

Summary: New families of AdS(2) x S-2 x S-2 solutions with 4 supercharges in Type II supergravities are constructed. Some subclasses of these solutions can be interpreted as defect branes embedded in 4d N = 4 SYM, or orbifolds thereof, realized through asymptoting locally to AdS(5) x S-5/Z(n). The Type IIA solutions are extended to include D6 branes and interpreted as describing backreacted baryon vertices within 4d N = 2 CFTs living in D4-NS5-D6 intersections.

D3-Branes Wrapped on a Spindle

Pietro Ferrero et al.

Summary: The study focuses on constructing supersymmetric AdS solutions in 5-dimensional minimal gauged supergravity, which can uplift to smooth solutions of type IIB supergravity on regular Sasaki-Einstein manifolds. These solutions are dual to d = 2, H = (0, 2) SCFTs, and it is shown that the central charge of the gravity solution matches with a field theory calculation involving D3-branes wrapped on Sigma.

New AdS2 backgrounds and N=4 conformal quantum mechanics

Yolanda Lozano et al.

Summary: A new infinite family of Type IIB backgrounds with an AdS(2) factor is presented, each with a proposed dual Super Conformal Quantum Mechanics (SCQM) model. Holographic expressions for the number of vacua, Chern-Simons terms, and other non-perturbative aspects of the SCQM are provided. The central charge of the one-dimensional system is related to a combination of electric and magnetic fluxes in Type IIB, with an extremisation principle proposed using Ramond-Ramond fluxes. Other physical and geometrical aspects of these conformal quantum mechanics are analyzed.

AdS2 duals to ADHM quivers with Wilson lines

Yolanda Lozano et al.

Summary: In this paper, we discuss AdS(2) x S-3 x CY2 x I-rho solutions to massive Type IIA supergravity with 4 Poincare supersymmetries, and propose an explicit dual quiver quantum mechanics model built out of various branes to describe the interactions in 5d gauge theories. By using the RR Maxwell fluxes of the solutions, we construct a functional that allows derivation of the holographic central charge through a geometrical extremisation principle.

New N = (0,4) AdS3 near-horizons in Type IIB

Federico Faedo et al.

Summary: New families of background solutions in Type IIB string theory are constructed, revealing connections to previously studied solutions. By introducing different types of branes, the types of solutions are expanded. The study finds that these solutions can be mathematically interpreted as specific branes embedded in fixed point theories.

N = (0,2) AdS3 solutions of type IIB and F-theory with generic fluxes

Christopher Couzens

Summary: In this study, the most general AdS(3) solutions of type IIB supergravity with a dynamical SU(3) structure and preserving N = (0, 2) supersymmetry are considered. The analysis is divided into three classes based on whether the dynamical SU(3) structure degenerates to a strict SU(3) structure. The solutions involve features such as holomorphically varying axio-dilaton, the presence of 5-branes and 1-branes, and combinations of different types of branes.

AdS2 x S2 x CY2 solutions in Type IIB with 8 supersymmetries

Yolanda Lozano et al.

Summary: We present a new family of Type IIB supergravity solutions with eight supercharges, related to previously constructed solutions through double analytical continuations. Our solutions fit locally in the class of solutions constructed by Chiodaroli, Gutperle and Krym, and are compared to global solutions constructed by Chiodaroli, D'Hoker and Gutperle.

On supersymmetric AdS3 solutions of Type II

Achilleas Passias et al.

Summary: In this study, supersymmetric warped AdS(3xw)M(7) backgrounds of Type IIA and Type IIB supergravity with non-constant dilaton, generic RR fluxes and magnetic NSNS flux are classified in terms of a dynamic SU(3)-structure on M-7. The results are illustrated by recovering several solutions with various amounts of supersymmetry, where the dynamic SU(3)-structure includes a G(2)-structure as a limiting case, and in Type IIB it is shown to be integrable.

Rotating multi-charge spindles and their microstates

Seyed Morteza Hosseini et al.

Summary: This study constructed generalizations of AdS(3) x M-7 type IIB vacua, specifically focusing on electrically charged and rotating supersymmetric black strings in AdS(5) x S-5 with general magnetic fluxes on a spindle. The counting of microstates was performed using the charged Cardy formula, and the general form of the anomaly polynomial of the dual N = (0, 2) CFT in two dimensions was derived and obtained via a simple gluing procedure.

Twisted D3-brane and M5-brane compactifications from multi-charge spindles

Andrea Boido et al.

Summary: The article presents families of supersymmetric AdS(3) x Y-7 and AdS(3) x Y-8 solutions in IIB string theory and M-theory, respectively. The solutions are interpreted as near-horizon limits of N D3-branes wrapped on Sigma and N M5-branes wrapped on Sigma (g) x Sigma, corresponding to holographically dual to d=2, (0,2) SCFTs. The central charge and superconformal R-symmetry of the gravity solutions are shown to agree with dual field theory calculations.

Kaluza-Klein spectrometry for AdS3 vacua

Camille Eloy

Summary: We use exceptional field theory to calculate Kaluza-Klein mass spectra around AdS(3) vacua in half-maximal gauged supergravity, applicable to any vacuum arising from a consistent truncation of higher-dimensional supergravity, regardless of preserved symmetries. Its efficiency is illustrated by computing the spectra of N=(2,0) and N=(1,1) six-dimensional supergravities on AdS(3) x S-3 and type II supergravity on AdS(3) x S-3 x S-3 x S-1.

Three-dimensional flux vacua from IIB on co-calibrated G2 orientifolds

Maxim Emelin et al.

Summary: In this study, we derived the 3D N = 1 superpotential for the closed string sector of type IIB supergravity on toroidal O5 orientifolds with co-calibrated G2 structure and RR background flux. We found evidence for full closed string moduli stabilization on supersymmetric AdS3 vacua, as well as indications of classical 3D de Sitter solutions, though these are difficult to reconcile with shape moduli stabilization and flux quantization. The possibility of achieving scale separation in AdS3 and dS3 vacua is discussed, but challenges arise due to geometric flux quantization.

The near-horizon geometry of supersymmetric rotating AdS4 black holes in M-theory

Christopher Couzens et al.

Summary: We classify the necessary and sufficient conditions to obtain the near-horizon geometry of extremal supersymmetric rotating black holes embedded in 11d supergravity associated to rotating M2-branes. The conditions for supersymmetry are rewritten in terms of differential equations on an eight-dimensional balanced space using G-structure techniques. The geometry is constrained by a master equation reminiscent of the non-rotating case, and the asymptotically AdS(4) electrically charged Kerr-Newman black hole in 4d N = 2 supergravity is embedded in the classification. Additionally, the conditions for the near-horizon geometry of rotating black strings in Type IIB are presented using dualities with the 11d setup.

Holography for 2D N = (0,4) quantum field theory

Kostas Filippas

Summary: The study focuses on the correspondence between AdS(3) massive IIA supergravity vacua and two-dimensional N = (0, 4) quiver quantum field theories. It is proven that bound states of D-branes on the boundary of the space provide the correct amount of flavor symmetry in the dual quiver theory to cancel gauge anomalies. It is proposed to complement the structure of the field theory with additional bifundamental matter, specifically N = (4, 4) hypermultiplets.
