Exploring the mechanism of electrocatalytic water oxidation on CoO decorated Ti3C2Tx nanoplatelets

Zhiwei Wang et al.

Summary: In this work, ultrathin cobalt oxide layer decorated Ti(3)C(2)T(x) nanoplatelets (CoO@Ti3C2Tx) were prepared using a facile method, and the mechanism of water oxidation reaction was explored. It was found that water oxidation on CoO@Ti3C2Tx likely proceeds via a one-electron transfer pathway to form hydroxyl radical, which then combines to produce hydrogen peroxide.
