Predicting the photocatalytic performance of metal/metal oxide coupled TiO2 particles using Response Surface Methodology (RSM)

Anh Thi Le et al.

Summary: This study investigated the photocatalytic performance of various metal/metal oxide coupled TiO2 particles after heavy metal removal under UV light irradiation. Ag-TiO2 particles showed the best photocatalytic performance in Rhodamine B dye removal, while other particles exhibited first order kinetic reaction. The optimal synthesis parameters for achieving the best photodegradation efficiency of RhB dye with Ag-TiO2 particles were determined through RSM analysis.

Vanadium doped titania nanoparticles for photocatalytic removal of heavy metals from aqueous solutions

M. S. Mirghani

Summary: The sol-gel process was used to produce pure and vanadium doped titania powders, with varying amounts of vanadium doped based on different initial concentrations. Characterization results showed that vanadium doping led to improved photocatalytic activity of titania for the removal of methylene blue, as well as enhanced adsorption of lead and zinc from aqueous solutions under ultraviolet exposure.
