The Community Inversion Framework v1.0: a unified system for atmospheric inversion studies

Antoine Berchet et al.

Summary: Atmospheric inversion approaches are crucial for monitoring surface fluxes of GHGs, pollutants, and trace gases. Various inversion software tools have been developed using different optimization methods and atmospheric chemistry-transport models. The Community Inversion Framework (CIF) allows researchers to exchange inversion modules and estimate fluxes of GHGs and reactive species on global and regional scales. It provides transparency and flexibility, enabling a comprehensive assessment of uncertainty in a consistent framework.

Data reduction for inverse modeling: an adaptive approach v1.0

Xiaoling Liu et al.

Summary: In recent years, the number of greenhouse gas observing satellites has greatly increased, providing unprecedented constraints on global GHG sources and sinks. A new adaptive approach has been developed in this study to reduce the size of satellite datasets using geostatistics, which leads to more accurate CO2 flux estimates. This method could be applied to a variety of inverse problems using very large trace gas datasets.
