In this study, we introduce a novel sequence selective terpolymerisation method that allows three specific monomers to be selectively enchained into a desired sequence. This technique can be used to generate tetrapolymers by coupling with other reactions such as CS2 ROTERP, and can also be employed in switchable catalysis for blockpolymer synthesis when combined with epsilon DL ROP.
We report a new sequence selective terpolymerisation in which three monomers (butylene oxide (BO) A, PhNCS B and phtalic thioanhydride (PTA) C) are selectively enchained into an (ABA ' C)(n) sequence. PTA/PhNCS/BO ring-opening terpolymerisation ROTERP can be coupled with CS2 ROTERP to generate tetrapolymers and with epsilon DL ROP in switchable catalysis for blockpolymer synthesis.
