Solution-Processed Ultrathin Semiconductor Films for High-Performance Ammonia Sensors

Han Chen et al.

Summary: A high-performance ammonia sensor based on an ultrathin film of donor-acceptor conjugated polymer has been designed and fabricated, showing high sensitivity and rapid response time. The phase separation method for preparing ultrathin film sensors not only expands the existing methods for ammonia gas sensors but also provides a simple and effective design strategy for future rapid-response gas detection sensors.

Bis-isatin based polymers with tunable energy levels for organic field-effect transistor applications

Wei Yang et al.

Summary: In this study, Bis-isatin based monomers with elongated pi-conjugation were successfully synthesized, with the Z configuration of the double bond in the 3-(thiophen-2-ylmethylene)indolin-2-one moiety directly assigned by crystal structure analysis. The planar structure in the monomer was facilitated by through-space intramolecular interactions, allowing for close intermolecular packing in the solid state. The HOMO/LUMO energy levels of the new pi-conjugated polymers could be adjusted by cyano substitutions on the vinyl linkers, leading to p-type or ambipolar charge transport properties in OFET devices.
