Discrimination analysis of coal and gangue using multifractal properties of optical texture

Chengcai Fu et al.

Summary: The optical texture of coal and gangue can be described and recognized using multi-scale fractal analysis, and the parameters in the multifractal spectrum can serve as efficient features for recognition. This is a novel and feasible method.

3D micromorphology-contact resistance-conductivity insights of quasi 2D Cd1-xPbxS thin films: Investigation based on stereometric and fractal analysis

Abhijeet Das et al.

Summary: In this study, the stereometric and fractal analysis of Lead doped Cadmium sulfide thin films synthesized using pulsed laser deposition was conducted. The results showed that Pb doping significantly influences the surface characteristics, microstructure, and conductivity of CdS films, providing potential for enhancing the efficiency of CIGS solar cells.

Micro-morphological investigations on wettability of Al-incorporated c-Si thin films using statistical surface roughness parameters

Gurupada Maity et al.

Summary: The surface properties of Al-incorporated c-Si and/or homogeneous c-Si thin films were investigated using 3D surface topography, statistical analysis, and contact angle measurement. The surfaces were found to become less rough and irregular with increasing ion fluence, leading to changes in wettability and hydrophobicity. Low reflective absorber surface showed potential for advanced solar cell applications.

THE MULTIFRACTAL PROPERTY OF HETEROGENEOUS MICROSTRUCTURE IN CEMENT PASTE

Yun Gao et al.

Summary: This paper examines the multifractal property of microstructure in cement paste using X-ray computed tomography and analyzes the impact of incorporating blast furnace slag on singularity width. The multifractal spectrum is found to be useful in quantifying the degree of heterogeneity in both ordinary and slag blended cement pastes.

Morphology and multifractal characteristics of soil pores and their functional implication

Xinni Ju et al.

Summary: The study reveals that in the Loess Plateau of China, loessial and Lou soils have lower heterogeneity in pore distribution and more symmetric pore arrangement. There are significant correlations between the multifractal characteristics of soil and soil properties, as well as macropore characteristics. The impact of macropore connectivity parameters on soil pore structure is more significant.

Stereometric characterization of Dinizia excelsa Ducke wood from Amazon rainforest using atomic force microscopy

Willian Silva da Conceicao et al.

Summary: The study on Dinizia excelsa Ducke under different cutting conditions revealed that the microtexture of the wood surface does not change depending on the type of cut, suggesting that spatial patterns remain consistent across different cuts.

Stereometric analysis of Amazon rainforest Anacardium occidentale L. leaves

Glenda Q. Ramos et al.

Summary: AFM, profilometry and SEM measurements on both sides of the Anacardium occidentale L. leaf reveal some singularities in ultrastructure due to their different morphologies and roughness. The study shows that adaxial and abaxial sides have similar microtextures but different spatial frequencies. This research provides insights into the surface morphology of leaves at different scales, with quantitative parameters confirming the spatial patterns displayed.

Analyzing the surface dynamics of titanium thin films using fractal and multifractal geometry

Abhijeet Das et al.

Summary: Titanium thin films prepared by DC magnetron sputtering on glass substrates exhibit varying surface morphology and structural characteristics under different sputtering powers, including autocorrelation, height-height correlation functions, and surface complexity. The complexity of the film surface is influenced by the sputtering power, leading to changes in characteristic scale and surface properties.
